Cricut Brings Smiles To Troops
Back in the day, when the country sent troops to some foreign country, the people back home would assemble packages and send them to those who are fighting. Lots of people would do this and they would pack in tons of really wonderful stuff - from warm clothes to wonderful cookies to current photos of families and friends to letters and to everything else in between. Anything that people back home thought the soldier would be happy to receive, and that is what you will find in those packages.
Recently, with troops still being sent to Iraq, people at home are said not to be giving that much thought to those packages anymore. Well, that may have some point there because more and more, people are becoming dependent on technology and so they can easily talk with their loved ones there via phones or the internet and it would not seem like they are really away. However, for those who are in some foreign country, fighting a battle, something that they can hold and look at really makes them strong and fights the powerful tug of homesickness.
And this is the very reason why there are volunteers are present creating packages to be sent to our soldiers. These volunteers belong to an organization which aims to give hope to the soldiers and make them feel really remembered and treat them like heroes, which they actually are. The project is known as Cards for Heroes and they are using this wonderful machine known as Cricut to help them create the cards. The cards are actually blank. They are sent to the soldiers and the soldiers put in their messages for the people back home. That way, they get to send back something and let them know how they are doing. And these cards made from Cricut really do look wonderful.
According to the volunteers, Cricut has been a blessing to them. Instead of just being able to create very simple cards that are folded in the middle, they can easily create various shapes of cards. They can also cut out various shapes of scraps that can be used as décor for the otherwise blank card. You can get one Cricut expression and create tons of things without much difficult. It may be difficult at first but with some Cricut information, everything will be flowing smoothly. Just keep sending those cards. The soldiers surely do love them.

Does anyone have or know someone who has a Cricut Expression Machine?
I would like to purchase one but I want to make sure it is worth the money!
Well that depends on how much you are going to use it. It does take some time to learn how to use, and to be able to learn to do all that the machine is capable of doing. so don't think you are going to take it out of the box and start scrapping right away. It takes up a lot of space. To use it alot you need to be able to have it set up, plugged in and ready to go. It is expensive and you need to buy cartridges for it- so you can end up with a lot of money invested in it.
But it can do a lot of different functions.
I have the Sizzix die cut machine. It works for me and what I do with scrapbooking and cards- but I can not manipulate the size of what I am cutting.
